I am a fleet manager responsible for a fleet of 34 tractor trailers and straight trucks along with several packing vans. My hope was to find a fuel treatment to improve fuel efficiency for our various units while reducing maintenance costs and extending the life of the various vehicles. We tested the XFO product starting with a base line of three runs which averaged 5.3 MPG, choosing Derwood Jones, an owner-operator who had the most consistent trips and loads, so we could get a more accurate assessment of the fuel economy. We then treated the next three runs using 32 oz of XFO to treat 2560 gallons of diesel. After running the three loads to Georgia and Florida and back, almost all highway, Derwood was able to achieve 5.9MPG on average with his Volvo truck that had 900,000 miles on the odometer. That .6 MPG was an 11.1% improvement in fuel economy! We plan to use XFO fuel treatment for our entire diesel fleet. Payne Trucking Co. “We Win when We Work together” 10411 Hall Industrial Dr. Fredericksburg, Va 22408 To the Truck Fleet managers, We have had numerous Fuel treatment providers approach us with their promises of fuel economy and reduced maintenance costs. We were skeptical when we were approached by SSI and their XFO fuel treatment. I was tasked by Wilson Bradley to do the 3-truck test with our Peterbilt trucks. After 3 weeks of testing, we were shocked at the improvements with 2 of the 3 trucks and marginal improvement with the 3rd truck. Unit 652 gained 18%, Unit 656 gained 15%, and unit 9000 had marginal improvement in fuel economy of 7%. This averaged out to over 13% in improved fuel economy with the 3 trucks. With the other benefits being that XFO will reduce maintenance costs and extend the life of the engines, we recommend any truck fleet to take a serious look at XFO for their fleets. When we stopped using the XFO for the next 4 or 5 tanks we saw the fuel economy drop significantly, almost back to their original fuel mileage. So the combustion fuel catalyst in the XFO fuel treatment really does work as advertised. Our trucks fuel up at the terminals, so all we will need to do is pre treat the tanks at the terminals every time we add fuel to the tanks. XFO will also keep out the sludge and water that the tanks get over time, also saving on the cost to clean out those tanks periodically. Finally, we expect a reduction in DEF usage by an estimated 25% because XFO delivers cleaner exhaust to the DEF system. From past experiences with different brands of fuel treatment we had become skeptical of any brand of fuel treatment delivering on the efficiencies they have claimed. Our skepticism was no different when we were introduced to XFO, truthfully, I chuckled when I heard what XFO was claiming, especially by the limited amount of treatment to volume of fuel treated. After testing this product, we can honestly say that XFO delivers on their claims.
